Growing

Growing notes after spacing out

  • Watering: it is best to use UV disinfected water. Watering is mostly done by ebb and flood. Temperature of the water must be at least 17 °C. During propagation measure the pH frequently. If the pH is getting too high (8 - 9) then it may be necessary to irrigate earlier to control this.
  • Nutrition: target EC around 3.3 and pH 5.2. Towards the end of the propagation of peppers rise up to 4 EC to create strong cells within the plant.
  • Temperature strategy is around 20 – 22 °C.
  • Humidity approximately: 70%.
  • CO2 - 650-700 ppm.
  • Screens: open any energy screens as much as possible to keep an active climate. Make sure that the screens are linked to outside temperature so that they only close when necessary.
  • Additional lighting: light for 12 hours a day (approx.) at 3000 lux. Lights should go off one hour before sunset.
