Notes after spacing out

  • Watering: after a few days the tops of the cubes will start to go green with algae. This is normal and confirms that the pH is correct.
  • Nutrition: aim for an EC level of at least 3 to 4, pH 5.2 to 5.5.
  • If the humidity is too low after initial spacing then misting or wetting the concrete floor can help raise the humidity and help the plant establish.
  • Humidity: to get a generative plant it should not be too humid. Control humidity to target levels using heat and ventilation.
  • CO2: 600 - 800 ppm.
  • Screens: use screens to control and activate the climate.
  • Tips: plants of more than 30 days will need the support of a cane.
  • When the substrate water content is low, the frequency of irrigation needs to be higher. Every watering is a vegetative action on the plant so can be used to control the plant balance.
  • Depending on the type of plant, delivery is normally 40 to 50 days after sowing.
  • Extended propagations go up to 60 / 65 days, depending on customer demands.
  • Additional lighting: make sure that the floors are dry by the end of the afternoon, which means no watering after a certain time. Also set the lighting to activate the climate until the end of the afternoon, mostly done with 6000 lux.
