Spacing

Spacing

  • Climate and environment: pot thick. Temperature during the first stage 22 – 23 ºC.
  • Space the plants when the leaves touch and start to overlap.
  • Canes are supporting the plant; canes are put in usually before or during spacing to minimize damage. Canes can be placed in any corner of a cube, but best next to the stem.
  • First spacing: after spacing the temperature should not be higher than 22 ºC.
  • Watering: if it is possible, irrigate after spacing. Irrigating before spacing is difficult to ensure that every plant receives the same amount of water.
  • Timings: the ideal time of spacing is before plants overlap each other and begin to stretch.
  • Additional lighting: light for 12 hours a day (approx.) at 3000 lux. Lights should go off one hour before sunset.
